HEALTHY SANDWICH RECIPE

INGREDIENTS

  1. 4 boiled eggs (remove yellow, use only white to make it healthy)
  2. 1 cup of Sprout Green Mung
  3. 1 cucumber finely sliced
  4. 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  5. 8 slices of wheat bread
  6. Make a paste of some Mint leaves, 1 green pepper and salt to taste (You can add lemon to taste in this paste).
  7. Chilli /Tomato sauce to spread on bread.
  8. 1 small finely shredded Beetroot

PREPARATION

  1. Toast all 8 bread slices using bread toaster or you can toast it on gas using pan.
  2. Meanwhile, combine sprouts green mung, shredded beetroot, chopped cilantro leaves and mint leaves paste in a medium bowl. Mix all together very well.
  3. Make thin slices of all 4 eggs. Please make sure to remove the yellow part of eggs which contains bad cholesterol.
  4. Spread 1/3 cup of the above mixture on each of 4 slices of bread. Place slices of white eggs and cucumber on top of all these 4 slices.
  5. On remaining 4 slices spread some chilli/ tomato sauce. And use them to cover above 4 slices.

NOTE: You can add sliced onion/tomato with cucumber it’s completely optional.

Mung:

This food is low in Saturated Fat and Sodium, and very low in Cholesterol. It is also a good source of Protein, Thiamin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, Pantothenic Acid, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorus and Potassium, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Vitamin C, Vitamin K, Riboflavin, Folate, Copper and Manganese.

Egg White:

Egg whites also contain other nutrients essential for good health, including magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, folate and calcium. They contain only 0.06 grams of fat and 28.9 calories. It’s a protein-rich meal in the morning helps prevent overeating later in the day. Egg whites are an excellent protein choice for breakfast.

Beetroot:

Beet is very low in calories (provide only 45 kcal/100 g), and contain zero cholesterol and small amount of fat. Its nutrition benefits come particularly from fiber, vitamins, minerals, and unique plant derived anti-oxidants. The root is rich source of phytochemical compound, glycine betaine.

Cucumber:

Cucumbers contains unique anti-oxidants in moderate ratios such as β-carotene and α-carotene, vitamin-C, vitamin-A, zea-xanthin and lutein. These compounds help act as protective scavengers against oxygen-derived free radicals and reactive oxygen species (ROS) that play a role in aging and various disease processes.

Mint Leaves:

Helps lose weight in healthy way. Mint is a great appetizer or palate cleanser, and it promotes digestion.
